Date: March 22, 2017 Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Event Description Brenda McKean will be discussing shortages on the home front during the Civil War on March 22, 2017. The shortages of everyday articles needed by those left on the home front, affected the lives of everyone. Shoes and leather became hard to find as was salt, medicine and food. Some citizens took to rioting, criticizing the government, and downright robbery. Others turned to prostitution and producing whiskey. Mrs. McKean will be providing information on ways families chose to survive these hardships.
