Ribbon Cutting with Curtis Media Group
This ribbon cutting is to celebrate the roll-out of a new radio station here in our area: Beach Boogie and Blues on 102.9 WELS-FM
Kinston is having a resurgence you can see, feel – and now even hear.
102.9 WELS-FM is excited to welcome Greenville radio station Beach Boogie and Blues to Lenoir County.
The Beach Boogie and Blues network and the legendary 102.9 WELS-FM are owned by the Curtis Media Group of Raleigh. In addition to 102.9, the company also owns Kinston’s Gospel 1010/92.9 WWMC, 106.5 WSFL, Katie Country 97.7, V103.3 WMGV, New Rock 99X, and radio stations in Goldsboro, Raleigh and throughout the state.
“We are incredibly excited about what’s happening in Kinston,” Curtis Media station manager Bruce Simel said. “Turns out many folks are already aware of the station and listening in on other outlets, including 105.9 FM in Greenville, 95.7 FM in New Bern, 101.1 FM in Jacksonville, 1070 AM (in Greenville) and online at beachboogieandblues.com.”
The new network will feature the always fun John Moore on weekday mornings, music specials throughout the day and beach music shows on the weekend. “We bill ourselves as the happiest radio station on the dial,” Beach Boogie & Blues music director Doug Moreland said. “Turn us on and see if you don’t agree!”
Beach Boogie and Blues music includes Southern Soul, Motown, Blues, and Carolina beach music. “At Curtis Media, we believe in keeping it local and serving our communities. We’re here to do just that,” Curtis Media account executive and Kinston native Jason Bryant said.
